In related news, new Defence Minister Jason Kenney tweeted pictures purported to be women being kept as slaves by ISIS. The pictures were actually Shi’a women taking part in an Ashura procession commemorating the prophet Mohammad’s grandson, Hussein, his companions and his family, and the battle of Karbala. The women in the photo symbolize Hussein’s sister, who was taken as a prisoner to Damascus after Hussein’s death.
Not a good start for the former Minister of Multiculturalism in his new job.
